Migration and Renewal
This is my most recent attempt to find a lasting home for my random writings. I doubt it will be my last.
Hope and enthusiasm spring eternal. Such it is for writers, who want to believe that someone, somewhere, will be interested in what they have to say. Several internet lifetimes ago I set up a blog on blogspot, and posted many thoughts there. This was the age when Google was still explicitly being not evil.
Later, it seemed like the audience was on Twitter, and Medium, and so I went there, in the golden age of the houses Jack built. For many years I posted short and not so short thoughts, and learned so much from others doing the same.
Then Jack let Twitter go, to a person of a problematic nature, and Medium developed a reputation of questionable judgement, and like many I thought that Substack would be a better home.
Alas, now Substack has a wholly avoidable Nazi infestation and refuses to spray it. Their principles are leading possibly even to their ruin, as people with clearer thoughts move to the exits.
So I am trying again, on Ghost, to find a stable home for writings that may garner only the smallest of audiences. In the larger scheme my presence here may not matter much, as my writings garner only the smallest of audiences where-ever I place them, but my principles are important to me, and in this small way I choose to express them.
Like every time before, hope and enthusiasm still spring.
